Nell’s working life started with wood, including carving. Now using stone, her work is more dependent on the contrast of light and shadow for effect.
Nell’s work falls mainly into two groups; one reflecting her enjoyment of life and sentiment, the other being animals and curious people, developed with a sense of fun. These are often from stone offcuts which challenge her creativity, inspiring her to see what ‘lives’ within.
